Crypto Market Structure Bill Aims for Presidential Review by Thanksgiving
U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.) confirmed that final crypto market structure legislation will reach President Trump's desk before Thanksgiving. The bill, critical for defining SEC and CFTC oversight of digital assets, is expected to clear the Senate Banking Committee by September's end and the Agriculture Committee by October.
Senator Tim Scott anticipates bipartisan support, with up to 18 Democrats potentially backing the Senate's version of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act. "We will have market structure by the end of the year," Lummis declared at Wyoming's SALT conference, revising her earlier 2025 forecast.
